Kim Messmer Wins This Year's ATHENA Award For Women Business Leaders

HUNTINGBURG -- It was a packed house last night at the Huntingburg Event Center for the annual Jasper Rotary Athena Awards.

Athena International is a non-profit group that supports, develops, and honors women leading the way in our community.

This year’s winner is Kim Messmer.

She’s an Independent Future Executive Senior Sales Director for Mary Kay Cosmetics and wife of Senate Majority Whip Mark Messmer.

In addition to her award, funds will be given to a charity of Messmer’s choice.  She announced she’d split the winnings between the Mary K. Foundation and our local Crisis Connection.

This year’s honorees included Kim Lottes, Marie Patton, Beth Seidl and Sandy Smith.

The keynote speaker for last night’s event was Susan Elkington.  She’s a Huntingburg native and the newly named president of Toyota’s – Georgetown, Kentucky plant.
