JASPER -- Early voting continues today at the Courthouse Annex in Jasper until 4 p.m.

Local election officials report 1,996 residents cast ballots in the first week of voting that began last Tuesday.

"We, traditionally in Dubois County, have a high number for early voting in-person and, I know our numbers will shift a little bit because we do have a good number of early voting by mail already," County Clerk Amy Kippenbrock explains.

Voting hours at the Annex are Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. and until 6 p.m. on Wednesdays.

This Wednesday, the Annex will be open until 8 p.m. to coincide with the Jasper Downtown Chowdown event.  You’re invited to come out to the Courthouse Square to, eat, shop and vote.

Another change:  The 35th Street Fire Station in Jasper will open a week earlier than scheduled, starting October 19th.

Early voting runs through October 31st.  Hours there will be Monday – Friday: 10am – 6pm and Saturdays 8am – 3pm.  There will be no voting on Sundays.

Any registered voter in Dubois County may vote at any early voting location.  On Election Day, Nov. 3rd, registered voters must cast their vote at their precinct specific location.

Election officials remind you to wear a mask, bring your photo id, and use hand sanitizer.

“We are asking, again, for voters to wear a mask when they come in,” says Kippenbrock.  “If you don’t have a mask, or you forget it in the car, or just didn’t think about it, we do have plenty of masks available.  So, if you get to the door and you’ve forgotten yours, it’s ok.   We’ll have one for you inside.”
