JPD: Traffic Stop Leads to Felony Arrest

Jasper- Jasper Police made a felony arrest during a traffic stop on Tuesday. 

Officers pulled 52-year-old Amy James over at the intersection of 6th street and Jackson Street. The reason for the stop was not specified in the affidavit.

A check of James’ license showed she was classified as a Habitual Traffic Violator, a level 6 Felony in Indiana. 

A Habitual Traffic Violator is classified by the state as someone who, within a 10 year period, accumulates three serious traffic violations or one who commits two violations resulting in injury or death.  

James was arrested and taken to the Jasper Police Department to fill out paperwork. Afterwards, she was taken to the Dubois County Security center.
