JC Penny to Close Two Stores in Our Area as Part of 154 Store Shutdown

BEDFORD -- Retail giant JC Penny has announced it will close its stores in Bedford and Vincennes.

The company recently filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy.  In a statement, company officials pointed to that and the COVID-19 pandemic as reasons for the shutdown of 154 stores nationwide, including the locations in Bedford, Vincennes.

Those stores are expected to close in 10 – 16 weeks.
