AREA WIDE -- Walmart locations in Jasper and the rest of the U.S. will further adjust their hours to combat the spread of the COVID-19 virus and to keep store shelves stocked for customers as panic buying continues to put a strain on the food supply.

Beginning Thursday, Walmart will be open from 7:00 a.m. - 8:30 p.m. each day.  This will allow employees more time to stock shelves and sanitize surfaces frequently touched by employees and customers.

Also, the company will open an hour early every Tuesday through the crisis for customers over 60 to shop exclusively.  They are at a greater risk of becoming severely ill, or even die from coronavirus.   Pharmacies and Vision Centers inside Walmart stores will also be open during this time.

In a statement, the company also announced it will temporarily shut down Auto Care Centers.  "Our people are working hard to have every part of the store ready to serve customers. To help support our people and focus on the most critical areas of the store right now, we will temporarily shut down our Auto Care Centers to allow those associates to focus on stocking and cleaning in the rest of the store."
