Jasper RC Flyers to Host Hands-On Open House for All Ages
The Jasper RC Flyers, a local Academy of Model Aeronautics charter club, will
host their annual Open House on Saturday, June 21, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the
Jasper RC Flyers airfield . We are located at 1103 S 350W Jasper, IN, behind the Dubois
Recycling Center. The event is free and open to the public.
The Open House will feature opportunities for attendees to try flying radio-controlled (RC)
airplanes with the assistance of experienced club members. In addition, children and families
can decorate and fly their own “chuck gliders,” providing a fun and creative introduction to
model aviation. The event will also include live RC aircraft demonstrations and a static display
of various model airplanes for up-close viewing.
“Our Open House is a great way for the community to discover the world of RC flight,” said
Jeremy Church, Jasper RC Flyers Club President. “Whether you’re a seasoned enthusiast or
brand new to the hobby, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. We’re especially excited to
give visitors the chance to actually fly an RC plane and see the technology and craftsmanship
that goes into these models.”
Club members will be on hand to answer questions about the hobby and provide information
about joining the club. All equipment for flight experiences will be provided, and no prior
experience is necessary.
Last year’s Open House was well attended, with participants of all ages enjoying the hands-
on activities and demonstrations.
