Jasper Officials Warn of Possible System Damage Due to "Flushable" Items Which Aren't "Treatable"

FROM LOCAL SOURCES

JASPER -- Officials in Jasper are reminding residents that “flushable” doesn’t mean “treatable.”

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, there has been an increase in the use of “flushable wipes” and other non-flushable items like napkins and paper towels.

City officials say these items don’t break down like toilet paper does, and can clog systems very quickly.

Remember, don’t flush anything other than toilet paper.  Damage that’s done to your system is your responsibility and it can get costly.  Clogged systems can damage pipes and can even force raw sewage back into your home.
