Jasper Man Hits Parked Car, Goes to ER Then Jail

JASPER -- A local man was taken to the hospital, then to jail, after hitting a parked car.

Police say it happened just before 3 yesterday afternoon as Rodrigo Mendoza drove in Maplegrove Village Park.

They say he hit a parked car, backed up and left the park, damaging landscaping in the 1,000 block of West Ann Lane.

Police caught up with Mendoza who was transported to Memorial Hospital for injuries he sustained in the crash.No word today on the extent of those injuries.

Arrest reports show Mendoza had a blood alcohol level above .15.

He’s charged with OWI, OWI Endangerment, and OWI over .15.
