Jasper Man Arrested on Warrants and Possession Charges

JASPER -- A Jasper man was arrested early Easter morning and now faces paraphernalia and other charges charges.

Police were conducting an extra patrol in the 1300 block of Dewey Street around 3:30 yesterday morning, when police say an officer smelled the odor of burnt marijuana coming from an apartment in the neighborhood.

Officers made contact with 20-year-old Jareth Winniger of Jasper.They found a marijuana grinder with residue inside.

Police also discovered Winniger had two warrants out of Orange County.One for Failure to Appear on a charge of Driving Without Ever Receiving a License; that’s a misdemeanor.

The other on a felony charge of possession of meth.

Winniger was lodged in the Dubois County Security Center.
