Jasper Man Arrested After Crashing into Tom's Lawn and Garden Building

JASPER -- A Jasper man was arrested Sunday morning after crashing into Tom’s Lawn and Garden Center on West 6th Street in Jasper.

It happened just before 3 a.m.

Police say 22-year-old Quentin Bell was south on U.S. 231 when he veered off of the roadway, hit the building and continuing back across the interstate before coming to a stop in the lawn of the Pizza Hut restaurant.

Witnesses told police they saw Bell try to enter the Holiday Liquors then leaned against the building until police and EMS arrived.

His blood alcohol level was .26%; he’s charged with OWI.

Damage to Tom’s Lawn and Garden is thought to be around $10,000.
