Jasper Man Accused of Strangling Juvenile Relative During Domestic Incident Over the Weekend

JASPER -- A Jasper man is in jail following a domestic incident over the weekend.

Police were called out Sunday to the 600 block of Village Court on a report of a violent incident that occurred the day before.

Investigators say 41-year-old James Taves II battered and strangled the child during the incident.

He faces a felony count of Strangulation and a misdemeanor count of Domestic Battery.

To protect the identity of the alleged victim, WITZ Radio News will not release how the suspect was related to the child.
