Jasper-Dubois Public Library to Offer "Library-to-Go Times For No-Contact Pick-Up

FROM LOCAL SOURCES

JASPER -- The Jasper-Dubois Public Library has announced it will offer “Library-To-Go” times so residents can pick up books they’ve requested online or by phone.

Starting next week, materials will be put in plastic bags with your name on them and placed in the vestibule for no-contact pick-up.

The library drop boxes are already open.

Staff will offer essential document services like faxing, printing and copying along with computer usage to file necessary documents.  That will be by appointment only.

Library drop boxes are now open. Feel free to return items via the drop boxes at your convenience. Due dates will continue to be extended until the Stay-At-Home order is lifted.

Please continue to follow all stay-at-home guidelines and only drop off on existing necessary trips out. All items will be quarantined upon return so it may take a day or two before they are removed from your account.

Starting the week of May 4th, if case counts continue to stay low, we will begin offering “library-to-go” times so that you may pick up books you have requested online or via the phone. Materials will be placed in bags with your name on them on a table by the vestibule so that you may “grab and go” without contact with others. Times for pickup will be limited at first but will then increase over the coming weeks. At that time, we will also be able to offer essential document services like faxing, printing and copying and computer usage to e-file any necessary documents via appointments.

We appreciate everyone’s support during this last month and are eager to get back to offering services. Library services are going to look quite different for the time being. Public libraries have never been a great model of social distancing! This will be a gradual transition into the “new normal” but we are excited to get the process started.

Please look for a more detailed announcement to come next week about the “library-to-go” services The library does have an expansive digital collection of materials that can be accessed at anytime on the library’s website. We have also renewed any library cards that had expired in the past year to allow immediate access to the library’s digital collection. If you do not have a library card and would like a digital access card, please see the contact information below.

Free WiFi can be accessed at anytime in the areas outside of the libraries as well as the Jasper Library Annex.

Please be sure to use recommended social distancing guidelines when doing so. Any questions can be directed to Library Director Christine Golden at [email protected] for more information.

We can also be reached via the chat feature on our website or via message to any of our Facebook pages.

Sincerely,

 Christine Golden / Library Director
