Jasper Dine-and-Dash Ends with Three Charges for Harrison County Woman

Jasper - A dine-and-dasher ditched the bill but was stuck with three charges on Sunday in Jasper.

Sunday, just after 1:00 p.m., the Jasper Police Department responded to Shoney's at 25 Indiana Street in reference to three individuals not paying for their food and leaving.

Upon investigation, the subjects were found to be staying next door at the Super 8 Hotel. The subjects were identified, with only one subject still being at the hotel upon contact with police. One of the suspects was identified as Tosha Linton and the police were told she had already left the hotel.

Tosha Linton was found to have several active warrants out of Crawford County and Harrison County. Police were given a description of Linton and the car she was associated with. A short time later, a female matching the description given was located nearby in front of Grounded (435 US Hwy 231). Upon initial contact with police, Linton gave a false name several times. The female was identified as Tosha Linton and was taken into custody.

A search after the arrest was conducted on Linton, with two clear plastic baggies were located. One baggie contained a clear crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine and the second baggy contained two blue pills, later identifed as a controlled substance, Diazepam.

Linton was arrested and transported to the Dubois County Security Center. Linton was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, a Felony, Possession of Controlled Substance, and False Identity Statement.
