Jasper and Pfaffenweiler Gift Exchange

Jasper- Jasper and Pfaffenweiler celebrated their 37 years of Partnership  this past summer in Pfaffenweiler, Germany. At the partnership celebration, the two communities exchanged gifts which is a long standing tradition at these celebrations.

The Pfaffenweiler Partnership Commission presented the City of Jasper with a  large wooden clock. Under the direction of Dieter Hahn, the Mayor of  Pfaffenweiler, Mirco Haberlin created the partnership clock that displays Jasper  and Pfaffenweiler time as well as the partnership logo. The clock, which was  installed in January, is displayed on the wall as you enter Jasper City Hall.

The Jasper Partnership Commission presented Pfaffenweiler with a leather  executive chair with the partnership logo on the back. The chair, which was  made locally at Indiana Furniture, is representative of the furniture manufacturing  that is prevalent in Jasper and represents Jasper’s historical connection to Pfaffenweiler. Indiana Furniture, which was founded in 1905 as Jasper Novelty  Works, was started by many of the original immigrants from Pfaffenweiler.
