Jasper 911 Call and Hang Up for Unresponsive Individual Leads to Drug Charges for Three

Jasper - A Sunday morning 911 call, and hang up, in reference to an unresponsive individual led to drug charges for three Jasper residents.


Shortly after 7:00 a.m. Sunday, officers with the Jasper Police Department were dispatched to a residence on Charlotte Avenue in reference to a female subject call 911 and asking for an ambulance, then hanging up. 

Upon officers arrival, they found an unresponsive male, identified as Jacob Volz, 52. Officers began performing CPR and administered Narcan twice. Fire and EMS arrived to assist and Volz was transported to Memorial Hospital.

After investigation, consent to search the residence was requested. Angela Fischer, 50, and Cody Kendall, 30, denied consent. A warrant was applied for and granted. Upon searching the residence, Fentanyl, Methamphetamine, multiple items of paraphernalia, scales and baggies, and numerous syringes were located in the residence.

Kendall and Fischer were arrested and transported to the Dubois County Security Center where they were booked and housed. 

Cody Kendall has been charged with five felony counts and a misdemeanor; Fischer was charged with three felonies and a misdemeanor.

Volz will be charged at a later date.
