STATEWIDE-- It's National HIV Testing Day and Indiana health experts are emphasizing the importance of being aware of the disease before it spreads.
The Health Resources Services Administration (HRSA) says today is an opportunity to boost efforts on connecting patients with treatment. The HRSA's Ryan White HIV-AIDS program treats 2,700 low-income Indiana patients every year and 87% of those patients are virally suppressed.
This means with daily medication, they effectively have no risk of sexually transmitting the virus.
