Indiana DNR Officer Recognized for 40 Years of Service to Law Enforcement Division

AREA WIDE -- A District 7 DNR officer is marking a major milestone.

Sgt. Paul Axton is being recognized by the DNR for 40 years of service with the Division of Law Enforcement.

It’s the longest tenure of any active Indiana Conservation Officer.

He served in Davies and Gibson counties before moving to Posey County in 1983 where he still serves.

Axton was promoted to corporal in 2011 and to sergeant in 2014.
