Huntingburg Officials Urging Residents to Take Survey on a New Comprehensive Plan

HUNTINGBURG -- The City of Huntingburg has begun a ten-month planning process to develop an update to the current comprehensive plan. “Your Home, Your Huntingburg” will establish a long-term vision for the future of the City, and serve as a road map for future growth and development.

“It’s not going to be the mayor’s plan, or the city council’s plan.  We want it to be a plan that the people have input on and direct us,” explained Huntingburg mayor Denny Spinner. “We want to continue the progress that has been made in the City of Huntingburg, and identify our next steps with this comprehensive plan update.  I look forward to seeing the great ideas that our residents and business owners come up with.”

“We cannot create a vibrant future or establish a direction for the City without input from our community,” says Community Development Director Rachel Steckler. “We strongly encourage everyone to participate in this upcoming visioning workshop.”

Through the end of the month, residents can take an online survey to help shape the new comprehensive plan.

“We’re going to be accepting surveys through the end of the month.  It’s about a five minute survey; general likes, dislikes, a time to comment and set the direction that we want to go,” says Spinner.
