Huntingburg Housing Authority to Receive $97,000 Grant For Improvements and Other Projects

FROM STATE SOURCES

STATEWIDE - The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development today awarded more than $2.7 billion in funding to nearly 2,900 public housing authorities (PHAs) in all 50 states and some local agencies will see some of that money.

The money is coming from HUD's Capital Fund Program, which offers annual funding to all public housing authorities to build, renovate, and/or modernize the public housing in their communities.

Housing authorities can use the funding to complete large-scale improvements such as replacing roofs or making energy-efficient upgrades to heating system and installing water conservation measures.

The Housing Authority of the City of Huntingburg is receiving just over $97,000 and Tell City is receiving over $380,000.  In Rockport, authorities are receiving just over $250,000.

Thousands of dollars are also being sent to Knox County’s Housing Authority and the cities of Vincennes and Washington.
