Heart of Jasper to Host Farm-To-Table Fundraiser in September

Jasper - The Heart of Jasper has announced its largest fundraising effort of 2021 with a Farm-to-Table event in September.

On Friday, September 17th, the non-profit organization will host Farm-To-Table, a first for the Heart of Jasper. Prioritizing dining, arts, and entertainment, the Heart of Jasper already has some possible ideas for future improvements, says Director Kate Schwenk.

"We've discussed expanding the crosswalk murals to continue connecting the (Thyen-Clark) Cultural Center and the River Centre with the downtown," Schwenk said. "We would love to see some alley murals done next year or some alley activation, so specifically for projects that are going to affect downtown Main Street with bringing some arts to the area."

The Heart of Jasper Farm-To-Table will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a happy hour courtesy of Snaps in Jasper. A 6:30 p.m. meal will be catered by Brew. Meat and produce for the event has been donated by local farmers and vendors. Strings Incorporated will be providing live music throughout the night.

Though the dinner will end at approximately 8:00 p.m., the night isn't over, Schwenk says.

"There will be a movie or show going on at the Astra afterwards so people can eat dinner and then have some entertainment at the Astra after our meal," Schwenk said.

The September event will, weather permitting, be held on North Main Street outside German American Bank. The evening will be held outside under the lights. If an indoor setting is required, the event will be moved to the River Centre.

Tickets can be purchased online at www.HeartofJasper.com for $75 apiece or a table for six for $500.
