CANNELTON -- We’re learning the Girl Scout killed Monday by a falling tree is from Jasper.  She’s been identified as 11-year-old Isabel Meyer.

Authorities say Meyer and three others hurt after a large tree fell on them Monday morning at Camp Koch, near Cannelton.  The 911 call came in around 11:30 a.m. reporting four people were seriously hurt.

They were all taken to area hospitals. Meyer later died from her injuries.

Camp Koch is a Girl Scout facility that spans 500 acres of woodland along the Ohio River.  It has been closed while police investigate.

Officials are calling this a freak accident.  They don’t know what made the tree fall, but they do say there was heavy rain when they were dispatched to the area.
