Full Closure on SR 64 in Pike County Scheduled

From Local Sources

PIKE COUNTY -- The Indiana Department of Transportation announces a full closure for State Road 64 near Augusta in Pike County.

Beginning on or around Tuesday, Aug. 28, INDOT maintenance crews will close S.R. 64 near the intersection of S.R. 257 for a pipe replacement project. Work is expected to last about a day depending upon weather conditions. During the operation, the closure will be in place around the clock. Local traffic will have access up to the point of closure. All other traffic should use the official detour using S.R. 257 and S.R. 56.

Once the project is complete, motorists will notice rough pavement for a short time. This is to allow fill material to compact under traffic conditions before crews come back with asphalt.

INDOT urges drivers to slow down and stay alert near crews.
