Jasper Four-Vehicle Collision Sends Five to Hospital for Minor Injuries

Jasper - A Tuesday wreck involving four vehicles sent two adults and three juveniles to Memorial Hospital for minor injuries.

On Tuesday, Jasper Police responded to a report of a four-car collision in front of the Dubois County Museum on North Newton St.

Upon investigation it was determined that three vehicles were traveling northbound stopped in traffic. A 2012 GMC Sierra driven by Sean Marek, 42, of Elnora, was following to closely and was unable to come to a stop.

Marek's Sierra struck a 2003 GMC Yukon in the rear end, causing a chain reaction involving two more vehicles. All five passengers in the GMC Yukon, including 3 juveniles were transported to Memorial Hospital via EMS with minor injuries.

Marek was cited for following too closely.

North Newton St was shut down for approximately 30 minutes, and then reopened.
