Four Dubois County Schools Have Been Designated "Four Star" by State

COUNTYWIDE -- Four Dubois County schools have been designated as Four Star Schools by the Indiana Department of Education.

The list for the 2017 – 2018 school year was released today.

Jasper High School, Ferdinand Elementary, Holland Elementary and Forest Park Jr. Sr. High School all made the list.

The Four Star School Award has been honoring great schools across the state for 30 years.

Dr. Jennifer McCormick, the state Superintendent of Public Instruction says the he designation reflects academic excellence among students, educators and the administration. 

To receive the award, schools must receive an A on the state’s accountability system and have excellent ISTEP pass rates.

There were 234 schools in the state that qualified.
