DUBOIS COUNTY -- Students in Dubois County going back to school today.  Be sure you watch out for the extra pedestrian traffic out on area roads.

Also, be on the lookout for those school buses.

If you have kids going to Holland Elementary School this morning, be sure you send them with a bottle of water.  The town is currently under a boil order.

And a new traffic pattern this year at Jasper Middle School.  Parent pick-up and drop-off will move to the north parking lot, closest to the new Jasper Elementary School.

Cars will follow the roadway through the parking lot for drop off and pick-up, and exit through the south entrance of the north lot.

School buses will use the south lot in the area of the new traffic circle.

School officials made the changes to prepare for the opening of the new elementary school in 2020.

Back-to-school season can bring a lot of excitement for your kids.

They will be seeing old friends, meeting new ones and discovering new interests.  But, it also means having to wake up earlier and get to school on time.

Dr. Michael McKenna, a pediatrician at St. Vincent, says  “Start walking back that bedtime by a half an hour every day, every two days so that you’re moving from that 10:00 or 10:30 p.m. bedtime to that 8:00 or 8:30 p.m. bedtime that you have during the school year."

He added, “The good thing about behaviors is that it’s never too late to start learning them.” So even if school already started, decide to set a bedtime rule and stick to it.
