Evansville Reports First Positive COVID-19 Test at Deaconess Midtown

FROM LOCAL SOURCES

EVANSVILLE -- Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville is reporting its first case of COVID-19.

In a statement, hospital officials say the patient went to an outpatient facility in Henderson, County and was sent to Deaconess for curbside testing.  That test came back positive.  The patient has been contacted and is quarantined at home.

The positive test results were released to health officials in both states.

The State Health Department says 56 Hoosiers have now tested positive for COVID-19 (that does not yet include the positive test in Evansville).

This would be the closest positive coronavirus case to our area so far.
