Evansville Police Prepared For Clashes Between Trump Supporters and Protesters

EVANSVILLE -- Police in Evansville are prepared for clashes between Trump supporters and the thousands of counter-protesters expected to show up this evening.

  "Certainly we'll take measures to make sure they're safe and respect their first amendment rights," says Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy John Strange. "Protesting is fine as long as it doesn't become physical or violent." says Vanderburgh County Chief Deputy John Strange

The Vanderburgh County Democratic Party will be hosting a massive counter-demonstration this evening on Locust Street in Evansville.

Thousands are expected to show up from several states.
