ENDOWMENT ESTABLISHED BY THE CELEBRATION SINGERS

Dubois Co.- The Celebration Singers announced the establishment of a new endowment fund with the Dubois County Community Foundation to provide ongoing support for music, music education, choir, or other related music or performing arts programs in the area. 

The Celebration Singers Inc. is a non-profit, all-volunteer community chorus of approximately 50 to 100 singers from Dubois, Pike, Spencer, Martin and Crawford Counties in Southern Indiana, whose mission is to provide an opportunity for local artists to collectively exhibit their talents as musicians; to further an appreciation of the arts; and to inspire audiences to strengthen their commitment to God and community. 

The choir was formed in 2002 and has been performing over the past 21 years at venues throughout Southern Indiana including Evansville, French Lick, West Baden and locations all over Dubois, Pike and Spencer Counties.  They have been a feature at the Jasper Strassenfest annually since 2002, and have provided entertainment at the Huntingburg Herbstfest for many years, as well as at many other area festivals and events. 

One of the most memorable highlights in the choir’s history was participating in the January 2013 Inaugural Praise and Worship Service for Governor-elect Mike Pence and Lieutenant-Governor-elect Sue Ellspermann at the Indiana Convention Center.  Approximately 90 members of the Celebration Singers travelled to Indianapolis to sing at the pre-inaugural ceremony. 

Also notable, the Celebration Singers performed at the Lincoln Amphitheatre on May 11, 2008 for the State of Indiana’s Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Celebration Kickoff which featured dignitaries including Governor Mitch Daniels and Congressman Baron Hill.
