Dubois County Sees 17 New COVID-19 Cases Wednesday, Elevated to CODE ORANGE

JASPER -- The Dubois County Health Department reported another double digit jump in COVID-19 cases in the county.

17 new cases were reported in the county Wednesday.  That brings our total to 1,109 since the pandemic began.  Of those cases, 19 have died; 901 others have recovered.  When you do the math, it comes out to 189 active cases in the county.

Just over 8,700 people have been tested so far in Dubois County. 

Dubois County has been elevated to a CODE ORANGE based on the county's seven-day positivity rate, which currently stands at 10.2%.

The codes are meant to assist schools and local governments with their decision-making.

Under a CODE ORANGE, state officials recommend hybrid learning for middle and high school students.  No assemblies or large group activities and limit extracurricular activities to participants only, with no in-person attendees.

You will have to click “I don’t have an invitation code”.  If you do not have internet you can call the phone number above, if no one answers please leave a message and they will call you back. Results should be available within 72 hours. If you do not get your results you can call the Indiana State Dept. of Health at 1-877-826-0011.

Testing is for anyone who lives or works in Indiana. Anyone can be tested, even those not showing symptoms. There is no charge for the testing. However, if you do have private health care insurance, you are asked to bring that to the testing site.
