Dubois County Native and Navy Pilot to Share Stories of Success at Huntingburg Airport This Weekend

From Local Sources

HUNTINGBURG – The Dubois County Airport Authority (DCAA) is excited to invite interns, students and the public to meet and hear from Joshua Gordon. Gordon, an F/A-18 Hornet-Navy pilot and Northeast Dubois High School graduate, will be on hand this Saturday, Dec. 22 from 11 a.m. to noon at the terminal building (under the rotating beacon) at the Huntingburg airport.

“We are proud of Josh’s accomplishments and happy to welcome him back,” DCAA president Jim Hunsicker stated about the special visit from the former Huntingburg Airport intern. This Christmas season presented an opportunity to invite interns, students and the public to the airport to hear first hand Gordon’s path to success in becoming a Naval Officer and pilot. “Flying the same aircraft that the Blue Angels (F/A-18) use during airshows takes a lot of patience, persistence and perspiration,” Hunsicker said.

After graduating from NE Dubois and finishing his internship at Huntingburg, Gordon continued his education at Indiana State University (ISU) before he joined the Navy as an officer.

“Here is a local neighbor and family member who can inspire a young person to make the sky the limit to their career,” Hunsicker concluded.

The DCAA continues to encourage the next generation pilots, mechanics and engineers by providing the basic building blocks of aviation here in Dubois County.

The Terminal Building is located at 2495 W. 900 S., Huntingburg, IN 47542
