FROM LOCAL SOURCES

JASPER -- Dubois County appears to be making some progress in its fight against COVID-19.

State health officials report Dubois County’s positivity rate is going down.   Our seven-day rate is just over 5%.  That’s a major improvement from earlier in the pandemic.  Back in July, the county’s positivity rate was 18.2%.

Seven new cases of COVID-19 were reported by the Dubois County Health Department Thursday morning.

That brings the total to 921 positive cases in Dubois County residents since the pandemic began.

Of those cases, 18 have died; 813 have recovered. When you do the math it comes out to 90 active cases in the county.

There were no new COVID-related deaths reported Thursday in any of our local counties.

Martin County did report six new positive cases.  Daviess County reported four.  Three new cases were reported Thursday in Spencer County and two in both Pike and Orange counties.  No new cases were reported in Perry County.
