JASPER -- Dubois County was downgraded to a CODE BLUE COVID Advisory Level Wednesday.

It came the same day officials reported no new cases of COVID-19 in the county and no related deaths.

All other counties in our area are also now blue accept Crawford and Spencer counties.  They remain under a CODE YELLOW.

A CODE BLUE means there is currently minimal community spread.  Under state guidelines, current activities may continue.

It’s the first time Dubois County has been under a CODE BLUE since the color-codes were put into place last year.

Our seven-day positivity rate is higher today but there were fewer tests.  The rate is currently 4.6%:  Just 19 new tests were administered as of Wednesday afternoon’s update.

Wednesday's report from the Indiana Department of Health shows 70% of the state's counties are under a CODE BLUE.

The department says 27 counties -- most of them in northern Indiana -- are still in the yellow, which is the 2nd-best rating.

More than 870,000 Hoosiers are fully vaccinated. Around 1.3 million have received their first COVID shot statewide.

In Dubois County, just over 7,270 have received both doses.  Over 10,000 here at home have received the first.
