Dubois Branch Library Calendar for Oct 2022

Dubois Co.- The Dubois County Library has released their October Event Schedule.

Every Friday – Chair Yoga from 9 – 10 a.m.  Registration is required

Saturday, Oct. 1  First Saturday Book Sale  10 – 2 p.m.

Monday, Oct 3 Adult Craft: “Boo” Block painting from 5 – 8 p.m.  Paint a fun Halloween block decoration.  Must pre-register.

Saturday, Oct. 8th Paint Like Bob Ross “Graceful Waterfall” painting 10:30-2:30 p.m..  Cost is $55.  Must pre-register by calling Art Party Unlimited at 812-508-6747 or go to bendintheroadstudio.com and register. Use code “library1008” to get a $10 discount. 

Monday, Oct. 10 – Library Closed for Staff Development Day

Wednesday, Oct 12 at 6 p.m. Kids Craft: Wooden Monster Painting.  Open to kids ages 6 and up.  Must pre-register. 

Friday, Oct 14 from 6:30-8 The Pepper Band Concert.  Listen to a variety of music including, Appalachian, Folk, Old Time and Traditional American played on dulcimers, banjo, fiddle, guitar and bass.   This concert is free.

Fall Break Open Play Days Monday, Oct 17 10-7, Tuesday, Oct 18 10-5 and Thursday, Oct 20 10 – 5  Come play our board games, build with our Lego’s and Duplo’s, create with our Keva blocks and Brain Flakes or color.  The Community Room will be open throughout the day.  Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult.  

Wednesday, Oct 19 at 10:30 Animal Tales Live Animal Show will be here with some “creepy creatures” that you will love to learn more about and even touch!  Limited seating in the Community Room. 

Wednesday, Oct 19 from 5 – 7:30 p.m.  Pumpkin painting.  We supply the pumpkins, paint and fun add on’s, you supply the imagination and skill!  Must pre-register. 

Saturday, Oct 22  9:30  – 2:30  YMCA Safe Sitter Class for students in grades 6-8.   Learn safety and first aid skills, business skills and childcare skills.   This is free but you must pre-register by calling 812-367-2323.  

Saturday, Oct 22 10 a.m. Patoka Lake Dam Tour - Join Ranger Jim Merkley of the Army Corps of engineers for a 2-mile walking tour of the Dam and Spillway.  Meet at the Army Corps Office by the dam   4512 N. Cuzco Road, Dubois, In.  You must pre-register.  

Monday, Oct 31 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. Happy Halloween.  Come and trick-or-treat us and we will give you a treat!

Monday, Oct 31 End of the Month Book Club at 6:30.  We will be talking about “The Thread that Runs So True” by Jesse Stuart.   Come by the library to request a copy if you would like to join us.
