Dr. Tracy Lorey Receives Annual Athena Award From Jasper Rotary Thursday Night

JASPER -- Greater Jasper School superintendent Dr. Tracy Lorey was honored Thursday night with the Jasper Rotary Club’s annual Athena Award in Huntingburg.

Athena seeks to support, develop and honor women leaders in community, business and industry.

Dr. Lorey was one of six finalists.  The other five were Jane Balsmeyer, Jenny Fowler, Judy Jochem-Nino, Dr. Nancy Otte, and Jill Wigand.

Former Lt. Governor and current Ivy Tech President Sue Ellspermann was the keynote speaker.

She discussed the importance of women in business and industry throughout the last century.

Dr. Lorey will be part of a new permanent exhibit at the Dubois County Museum dedicated to honoring local Athena Award winners.
