Dedication Ceremony Planned For Ferdinand Veterans Memorial

FERDINAND -- A dedication ceremony for the Ferdinand Veterans Memorial, constructed on the north side of Ferdinand to honor the service of all United States Veterans, will take place on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27, 2019 at 2:00pm. 

The public is invited to attend. The memorial features a large granite monument thanking all U.S. Veterans , five smaller monuments representing each branch of the United States Military, and three flags – the U.S. flag, Indiana flag, and the black POW/MIA flag. A granite stone engraved with the saying, “All gave some, some gave all”, will be placed at the foot of the large monument. 

U.S. Senator, Mike Braun, will be speaking at the dedication along with Indiana Senator, Mark Messmer and Ferdinand Town President, Ken Sicard. 

The Forest Park High School Band will be playing patriotic music. 

If you plan to attend, public parking will be at the Ferdinand Community Center with a free shuttle transporting guests to the memorial site.

 Pine Drive and Rose heights neighborhood will be closed off to traffic with the exception of VIP & handicap parking.
