City of Jasper Teams Up With IU for Capstone Project

JASPER -- The city of Jasper is teaming up with the IU School of Public and Environment affairs for a summer graduate capstone project.

The class will involve a group project or case study that requires students from around the world to work in a collaborative learning format.

Here in Jasper, the focus will be on technical assistance for the city, producing four outcomes that will be utilized in the city’s upcoming comprehensive planning effort.  Those include evaluation of a mixed-use neighborhood near downtown Jasper and public/private partnerships, a downtown riverfront activation plan and recommendations for future projects and funding options to implement those recommendations.

Those ideas will be presented publicly at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 24th in the council chambers at Jasper City Hall.
