City of Jasper Awarded Community Crossings Grant
The City of Jasper has received a Community Crossing Matching Grant of $264,162.50 for improvements to Portersville Rd.
Through the grant provided by the Indiana Department of Transportation, improvements will include the
widening of Portersville Road, the installation and replacement of storm sewers and the
installation of a pedestrian path.
The project has been planned in collaboration with the Greater Jasper School
Corporation to be completed by the beginning of the 2020-2021 school year. It
addresses a major safety concern involving pedestrians/students walking along the
current narrow roadway.
