Black Ice Causes Rollover Crash on SR 545, Seat Belt Saved Driver From More Serious Injury

From Local Sources

DUBOIS -- Slick road conditions believed to have caused a crash Thursday on SR 545 in Dubois.

Police say a driver lost control of her vehicle causing her to spin and run off of the roadway.

The vehicle then hit a guardrail and rolled over it down an embankment.  The car came to a rest on its top in a water filled ditch.

Remarkably, the woman was able to free herself from the vehicle.  A passerby stopped and helped until EMS arrived.

The driver was taken to the hospital for head pain but deputies say the use of a seat belt greatly reduced injury in the crash.
