Authorities Looking For Hit-and-Run Driver Who Caused Power Outage Wednesday Morning

DUBOIS COUNTY -- The Dubois County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help investigating a hit-and-run Wednesday morning that brought down power lines and plunged hundreds into darkness.

It happened around 2 a.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Jasper Dubois Road and State Road 164, east of Jasper.

Authorities don’t have a description of the vehicle involved in the crash but they believe it left the scene traveling toward the town of Dubois on Jasper Dubois Road.

Power was out to around 300 residents in the county for over 5 hours as Dubois REC crews made repairs.
