Area Pools Offering Free or Discounted Admission This Weekend Due to the Heat

AREA WIDE -- Jasper City Officials have announced the municipal pool will offer FREE admission Saturday and Sunday from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. due to the extreme heat.

Park Department Director Ken Buck says the decision was made this morning after a conversation with the mayor and other officials concerning the dangerous heatwave.

If you don't have air conditioning, or if you just want to get cool, you can do that for free, again, Saturday and Sunday ONLY between the hours of 4 p.m. - 7 p.m.

Huntingburg, Ind. – Due to the extreme heat, the Huntingburg Municipal Swimming Pool will offer free swimming on Saturday, July 20 and Sunday, July 21 from 3:00-6:00 p.m.

The Splash Park will remain open until 8:30 p.m.

City of Loogootee Pool will be offering the following:

The Jasper Public Library is open and air-conditioned.

In a post to social media this week, library officials urged the at-risk to come to the branch if you need a place to cool down.

It’s open until 8 p.m. tonight, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday and from noon – 5 p.m. on Sunday.
