Area Man Sentenced in Murder Case After Attempting a Murder / Suicide Last Year

SPENCER COUNTY -- Alan Lee Bennett has been sentenced to 65 years in prison for the murder of Linda Bowman in Spencer County last year.

The sentence was handed down Tuesday.

Investigators say Bennett shot and killed Bowman before turning the gun on himself in a failed suicide attempt.

A jury convicted Bennett back on September 15^th.
