BEDFORD -- Kicking a cop is one of several reason why a Lawrence County man is behind bars.

Lawrence Co. Sheriff's deputies were called Sunday night to a home on Butterfly Lane in Bedford.

Deputies arrived and spoke with a woman who said 53-year-old Glenn Roll beat and choked her during an argument. There was bruising on her neck and blood on her lip, according to  WBIW in Bedford.

As deputies tried to handcuff Roll, he began resisting and had to be restrained.

Once in cuffs, Roll was taken to a patrol car. He refused to get in, began kicking, and kicked an officer in the face, said Chief Deputy Aaron Shoults.

Roll was taken to jail and is charged with domestic battery, strangulation, and battery on a police officer.
