Area Athletic Team Quarantined After Student Tests Positive For COVID-19 Before Start of School

VINCENNES -- School hasn’t even begun in Vincennes, but, already, a sports team at Lincoln High School has been quarantined due to COVID-19.

A member of the team began showing symptoms over the weekend.  He was last in the school on Friday.

Officials say that student is recovering at home.  The rest of his team has been placed on quarantine.

The superintendent tells WTHI-TV that their protocols to deal with students who test positive worked in this case.

Students are expected to go back to class in Knox County later this month.
