Another Dubois County Resident Has Died From COVID-19, Eight New Positive Cases Thursday

JASPER -- The Dubois County Health Department reported another COVID-19 death in the county Thursday.

That brings the total to 11.  Officials say an investigation into one of the deaths found that, while the person had COVID-19, the virus was not listed as the cause of death.  That is why the number has not changed to account for the new death.

There were also 8 new cases reported Thursday in Dubois County bringing our total to 587 since the pandemic began.

Of those cases 340 have recovered.  When you do the math it comes out to 236 active cases in the county.

COVID-19 in Dubois County is infecting more young people than older ones.

Just over 20% of the cases are in their 20’s.  13% are 19 and younger.

Older residents, over the age of 60, make up around 13% of the total confirmed cases since the beginning of the pandemic.
