Annual Ferdinand Heimatfest Kicks Off Friday With Music, Food and Games

JASPER --The Ferdinand Heimatfest kicks off this Friday evening.

This year’s main act is rising country music star Cale Dodds. He performs on Saturday, June 22nd at 9:00 p.m. Opening for Cale Dodds will be 18-year-old Pendelton, Indiana native Abigail Rose Clark. Rose Clark is in the process of producing her first album featuring some of her original songs. She has also covered classics by John Sebastian, Ray Davies, Roger McGuinn, and Elliott Murphy.

Friday Night’s entertainment will be local favorite Studebaker, playing Classic Rock with a touch of Country. Dave Breitweiser, Mark Mayo, Marty Kingsbury, and Craig Schneider make up the band.

The Ferdinand Heimatfest will be held at 18th Street Park on June 21st and 22nd. The Heimatfest features great games for kids, a variety of contests, delicious food, a beer garden and entertainment.

6 p.m. Cornhole Tournament of Champions registration opens at the 18th Street Park softball field

6:30 p.m. Magician performance in the Best Home Furnishings Family Zone

7 p.m. Cornhole Tournament of Champions at the 18th Street Park softball field

8 p.m. Pong tournament in the beer garden

8 p.m. Studebaker Classic Rock With a Touch of Country performs on the Seufert Construction main stage

Saturday

8 a.m. Heimatfest 5K Run/Walk at the Forest Park Junior-Senior High School track 

9 a.m. NextEra Energy 3 on 3 Basketball Contest at the 18th Street basketball Courts 

10 a.m. Tri-County YMCA Co-Ed Volleyball Tournament at the 18th Street volleyball courts

11 a.m. Food booths open

Noon Backyard Barbecue contest

Noon Scenic Hills Care Center Car Show

1 p.m. NextEra Energy Horseshoe Tournament at the 18th Street horseshoe pits

3 p.m. Beer garden opens

3 p.m. Tech Tunes DJ on the Seufert Construction main stage
