Annual American Flag Disposal Ceremony for Dubois County, Indiana Friday June 13th 2025

The public and the local community throughout Dubois County and surrounding area is cordially invited to attend and participate in the Annual American Flag Disposal Ceremony for Dubois County for 2025. The annual ceremony for the disposing of worn, used, torn, faded, and unserviceable US American Flags, State Flags, Service Flags etc., will be conducted by the Dubois County Veterans Council (DCVC) on Friday, June 13 th at the Dubois County 4-H Fairgrounds beginning promptly at 7:00PM/1900 Hours. 

The Playing of Patriotic Songs (Recorded), The National Anthem, and the reciting of the “Pledge of Allegiance” and other Military Honors will highlight the dignified and somber Disposal Ceremony. David Stockburger, the current President of the DCVC will preside over the ceremony. The ceremony will be hosted by VFW Post #11365. 

The Public is asked to bring their unserviceable and worn/torn flags to the actual ceremony, or they can drop them off at any of the local Veterans Organization located throughout the county. Due to the # of Flags involved in this once-a-year event, the actual burning/disposal of them will continue after the solemn ceremony. We hope to see many of you there as we publicly honor one of our Greatest American Symbols. Happy Flag Day Saturday June 14 th .
