ALL CLEAR: Sounds of Gun Fire Force Perry Central on Lock Down, Shots Not Fired on Property

From Local Sources

PERRY COUNTY -- Perry Central was placed on a partial lock down Tuesday morning after reports of the sound of gun fire.

School officials took to social media Tuesday morning to alert parents of the incident, and explained "Perry Central went to a partial lock down and contacted central dispatch as a precautionary measure.  Sounds that heard like gun fire were heard - away from school, but close enough that we wanted to be cautious.

"Regular school activities resumed by mid-morning as sheriff's deputies and state police remain on the scene as a precaution.  School officials said, "We do not not believe there is any danger, but as a precaution law enforcement was called.  The gun fire was not on school property, and students were not in danger."
