By: David Shepherd, News Director / Forecaster

AREA WIDE -- It’s a weather alert day across the area today as some winter weather moves in our direction.

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY is up for Dubois, Orange, Crawford and Washington Counties.  Up to 2 inches will be possible in Orange and Crawford with about an inch in Dubois County.

Precipitation will accompany a frontal boundary and upper low on tonight and into Friday

Precipitation will initially start as snow this evening, but there will be a changeover to a freezing rain/snow mix from tonight through Friday morning.

Highest snow totals will be north of our area along the I-74 corridor with snow amounts in the 2 to 4 inch range and light ice accumulations.  Here, maybe an inch with locally higher amounts.

This evening and Friday morning commutes will be slippery and potentially dangerous. Plan for those slippery roads
