The National Weather Service has issued a Special Weather Statement for the entire area.

The snow is expected to move in after midnight and linger into the day Sunday, turning more to snow showers by the afternoon.

Meteorologists have had difficulty pinning down just how much snow we may see, but 1-3 inches seems to be the consensus at this point.

Those with travel plans on Sunday or early Monday should continue to monitor the latest forecasts, and be prepared to alter their plans as needed.

The weather service warns Winter Weather Advisories may be issued in subsequent forecast updates.

Special Weather Statement issued March 2 at 3:34AM EST by NWS Louisville KY

Accumulating snow looks likely across southern Indiana and parts of central Kentucky Sunday as a weather system impacts the region.

At this time, the best chances for accumulating snowfall look to occur along and north of the Western Kentucky/Bluegrass Parkways.

Accumulating snowfall south of the Bluegrass Parkways and east of I-65 toward the I-75 corrdior may be possible as well, but confidence in that solution remains low.

Those with travel plans on Sunday or early Monday should continue to monitor the latest forecasts, and be prepared to alter their plans as needed.

Winter weather advisories may be issued in subsequent forecast updates.
