Air Quality Action Day Friday

AREA-WIDE -- The Indiana Department of Emergency Management has extended the Air Quality Action Day for today.

Locally, the counties impacted include Dubois, Daviess, Perry, Pike, Spencer and Warrick Counties.

Anyone sensitive to changes in air quality may be affected when ozone levels are high.

Children, the elderly and those with heart or lung conditions should reduce or avoid exertion and heavy work outdoors today.

Everyone can help reduce ozone by making simple changes to your daily habits.

IDEM recommends walk, bike, carpool or use public transportation to get around, avoid using the drive-through and combine errands into one trip.

Also, your asked to turn off your engine when idling for more than 30 seconds and conserve energy by turning off lights or setting you’re a/c unit to 75 degrees or above.
